Why choose us?

The following is a summary of the differentiating factors which ensure the best provision of general and preparatory education for the benefit of our learners and their parents.

Reasons for choosing Beecham Tutors:

We are a British organisation, established over 40 years ago, with global reach

Beecham Tutors is of British ownership and management. We started teaching in London in 1984 and now have tutors of numerous nationalities in most parts of the world who can deliver in-person learning in addition to online learning – in all subjects of primary (5-11), secondary (11-16) and post-16 education.

We support subjects prescribed by the different global educational models - British, IB & American

The subjects we offer are aligned to the educational model that learners follow, whether the learner is attending a school or is being home educated. These models are the British, IB and American

Whether being educated at school or at home, we specialise in preparing and placing learners in selective school-based education at the ages of 11, 16 and 18.

School-based general education may be supplemented or supplanted by our tutorial services.

Our subject-specific tuition programmes at the 5-11, 11-16 and 16-18 stages are more rigorous than those delivered under the three educational models at selective schools.

Our educators are high-achievers who themselves gained entry into selective schools and top-tier universities

Our educators have the following profiles:

  • They have gained entry to selective schools and achieved high grades in their O Levels/GCSEs and A-levels or international equivalents.
  • They have gained entry to top-tier universities and achieved top classifications in their graduate and post-graduate degrees.
  • Many of our tutors have curriculum- management or school-leadership experience.

We have a significant record of successfully preparing learners for selective education

Our tutors have recorded significant successes in preparing and placing their students in top selective schools and universities globally.

Our methodology and programme delivery are informed and effective

The methodologies, curricula, teaching programmes and teaching materials that are used by our educators are continually revised and refined. Our methods in delivering the appropriate learning requirements mean that learners learn subjects in the shortest time possible. Our overall teaching approach is well-informed and up to date, in line with recent research learning and teaching.

Moreover, we have in-depth knowledge, acquired over many years, of the expectations of top selective schools and universities globally.

We guarantee learners success in subject-specific examinations

We are the only educational organisation which guarantees:

  • That learners will pass the subject-specific examinations aimed for – whether the subject is externally assessed by an examining board under the British model at ages 16 or 18, or whether the examination is internally assessed by the school they are attending under the IB or American models at the ages of 11, 16 or 18.
  • That learners will succeed in passing their pre-university qualifications with above-average grades, so as to maximise the chances of gaining entry into selective universities.

The caveat being that our study plans and expectations must be adhered to by the learners and their parents.

We provide topic-specific, subject-specific and curriculum-wide tuition to supplement or supplant school-based learning

Our tutorial services address three parental and learner needs:

  1. Topic-specific tuition for clarifications and reinforcement. Some learners may need clarifications on subject topics learnt at school or at home.
  2. Subject-specific or subject-cluster-specific tuition to supplement or supplant school-based learning. Some learners may wish to learn certain subjects or subject clusters at home.
  3. Curriculum-wide tuition to supplant school-based learning. Some parents may prefer to home-educate their children for a number of reasons.

Some feedback from our learners or their parents (entry into selective schools):

Parent (London)

I am a working mother who cannot afford private selective schools. I wanted my primary-age son to gain entry into a selective school whose admission criteria did not include residency in close proximity to the school. Beecham Tutors provided me with a shortlist and prepared my son for the selection tests for Colchester Royal Grammar School and Queen Elizabeth’s School Barnet.

My son received top scores and offers at both schools. I cannot thank Beecham Tutors enough.

Grandfather (Lincolnshire)

I engaged Beecham Tutors to prepare my granddaughter for entry into selective schools in Lincolnshire. The preparatory programme was delivered over three years and needed only one hour of tuition per week. My granddaughter passed in the selective tests of Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School (KGGS) as well as Spalding High School.

Parent (London)

Beecham Tutors transformed our daughter’s confidence and academic ability. She secured a place at Henrietta Barnett thanks to their tailored 11+ programme. The tutors understood her strengths and gently pushed her beyond what we thought possible.

Parent (Singapore)

We were relocating to the UK and had no idea how to prepare for the 11+. Beecham’s remote sessions were a lifeline. Our son was accepted into St Paul’s and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Learner (aged 11) Hong Kong

I liked how my tutor made hard things fun. I got into City of London School and now I feel ready for anything!

Some feedback from our learners or their parents (entry into selective post-16 education):

Parent (Manchester)

Our son was aiming for Brampton Manor’s sixth form. Beecham Tutors helped him master GCSE Maths and English with precision. He not only got in but ranked top in his cohort.

Learner aged 15 (Tokyo)

I was nervous about applying to London Academy of Excellence. Beecham helped me build a strong personal statement and guided me through subject prep. I got in—and now I’m studying Further Maths and Economics!

Parent (Surrey)

Beecham’s support during Years 10 and 11 was outstanding. Our daughter was accepted into Westminster School’s sixth form. The tutors didn’t just teach—they mentored.

Some feedback from our learners or their parents (entry into top-tier universities):

Learner aged 18 (England)

I owe my Cambridge offer in History to Beecham Tutors. Their Oxbridge preparation was intense but inspiring. I learned how to think, not just memorise.

Parent (Shanghai)

Our son was applying to Imperial College from an international school. Beecham’s A Level Physics and interview prep made all the difference. He’s now thriving in London.

Learner aged 17 (Kuala Lampur)

Beecham helped me switch from IB to A Levels and still meet Oxford’s entry requirements. Their guidance was strategic and personal. I never felt lost.

Parent (Birmingham)

Beecham Tutors supported our daughter from age 9 to 18. She’s now at Harvard. Their long-term vision and adaptability across stages were unmatched.

Tailored Tuition Pathways

Across all Key Stages (5-11, 11-16 & Post-16)

Tailored Pathways

Ad-hoc Clarification & Reinforcement: For learners who need targeted support in specific topics—whether to revisit concepts taught at school or deepen understanding gained at home—we offer focused, topic-specific tuition designed to build clarity and confidence.

Subject-Based Supplementation or Replacement: Some learners benefit from studying individual subjects or clusters outside the classroom. Our subject-specific and interdisciplinary programmes can either complement school-based learning or serve as a full alternative, depending on the learner’s goals and circumstances.

Full Curriculum Tuition for Home Education: For families choosing to home-educate, we provide comprehensive curriculum-wide tuition across all key stages (5-11, 11-16 & Post-16). Whether for philosophical, logistical, or academic reasons, our programmes offer structure, expertise, and continuity tailored to each learner’s journey.
